Originally from Kentucky and raised in Idaho, Shawnte blends a rich background in theater, movement, and voice into a distinctive yoga practice. His approach emphasizes long, slow, and deep movements, accessible, sustainable, and designed for daily practice without strain.

With a belief that yoga is not just about feeling better, but being better at feeling, Shawnte encourages students to turn off the mind, relax, and float downstream, while reminding them that enlightenment is always optional.

Drawing from extensive training in the Suzuki Method, Noh and Kabuki Theater, and modern dance, as well as Alexander and Linklater voice techniques, his classes invite deep self-study and embodied presence.

Based in Seattle, he teaches at Yoga Sanctuary and Whim W’him Contemporary Dance Center and holds certifications from Meghan Currie, Nico Luce, and Rasa Yoga with Greta Hill.
