"I have been practicing yoga since 2004 and have taught at numerous studios in the Seattle area. I am so excited to be at the Yoga Sanctuary and imparting my love of yoga to the community! Throughout my lifetime, I have come to realize the curative qualities of yoga, and when I first began practicing, my connection was to the physical poses. With time, however, I saw how effort on my mat began to seep into my more areas of my everyday life, causing me to be more compassionate, relaxed, patient, and much less reactive. This new mindful approach is invaluable and might I say “contagious!?” I can’t wait to offer up some technique(s) to willing Yoga Sanctuary students.
In my private instruction classes, I create customized, therapeutic yoga sequences for students working through various types of issues –physical, mental, emotional, spiritual. I believe strongly that yoga is accessible to all people, bodies, minds, and spirits, and I seek to hold a space for every individual.
After working in the technology field for 20+ years, yoga for me made working in a high stress, high-deadlined work pace manageable. But as the forrest years enter, my yoga instruction is becoming even more primary to help navigate this next life chapter.
On the mat, expect to have fun in my classes while staying contemplative and being lead into more in-depth places. Helping you stretch, bend, and find your unique edges, is always my goal as well as putting the "You" in your practice.
My credentials include 500-hour training with 8 Limbs Yoga Centers E-RYT YA, 2 x 200-hour trainings in both Hatha and Vinyasa from two other separate well-known lineages, and many continuing education credits in areas like breath work and myofascial yoga wellness massage. I've been known to integrate these offerings in both my summertime park classes, and in my regular in-studio offerings.
Come grab a class with me! I can't wait to meet you and put the "U" in your You-nique Self too."
