Amanda’s motto around yoga is, at its essence, “take it off the mat.” What better time than yoga to self-reflect, see who and where you are, and learn something to take out into your life? Her classes always bring a little something to ruminate on, usually in the form of the Yoga Sutras and nuanced alignment.

During a transitional period in her life, Amanda found yoga in 2012, and quickly realized it was her calling – she started teaching in 2013, and completed her 500 hour training program in Arizona in 2014, just before moving to Seattle. Once in the PNW, she continued to teach, learn, and explore, until crossing paths with Richelle of The Yoga Engineer, from whom she discovered a passion for nuanced alignment. All told, Amanda has over 2,000 hours of teaching experience, and many more hours of nerding out and studying the body.

Amanda’s classes have a strong alignment focus, while incorporating breath and introspection. Her style is slow and deliberate, but with a rich attention to detail that will deepen the experience of any student, no matter how long they’ve been practicing. She hopes you'll leave class having learned something and that you chuckled a few times. Her specialties include those recovering from injuries, the slightly older crowd (40+), the brand newbies, and pregnant / postpartum mamas.
